Harstad is a city and municipality in the province of Troms, Norway. It is the second municipality in terms of population within the province of Troms, after Tromsø. It is also the fourth most populous city in the Nord-Norge region, after Tromsø, Bodø and Mo i Rana. It is located about 250 km north of the Arctic Circle. It was founded in 1904.
