The Haraoka Pier, located on Haraoka Beach in Minamiboso, Chiba Prefecture, is one of only a handful of piers with a wooden structure that still exist in Japan. This pier is a popular sight for photographing the so-called Diamond Fuji that can be seen only twice a year when the sun sets right over the peak of Mt. Fuji, which can be seen across Tokyo Bay on a clear day. The pier has also been used as backdrop in several Japanese films.
